Bethesda Baptist Church
"Not ashamed of the gospel of Christ"
Our Pastors
Andrew Zwart, Lead Pastor

Andrew moved to Norfolk from Niagara in 2025 after he was called to serve as pastor by Bethesda Baptist Church. Previously, Andrew served as an elder and pastoral intern at Rosedale Baptist Church in Welland, Ontario. He has a MASc degree from the University of Waterloo and worked as a professional engineer in product development and cybersecurity before going into full time pastoral ministry.
Andrew and Stephanie have five children, ages 1-14. The family enjoys being outdoors - sledding, bicycling, and playing around Big Creek. When inside they enjoy reading and playing board games. Andrew and Stephanie home educate their children and are part of a local homeschool group. They are both passionate about helping other parents lead and guide their own families in the ways of the Lord.
Andrew loves the Lord Jesus Christ, his only hope in life and death, and trusts the Bible for every area of life. Andrew loves to serve his family and the church and is eager to apply the grace of God and the love of our Lord Jesus Christ in all things. He is continually praying for revival and reformation in the church, the region, the country and the world.
Andrew is passionate about making the Word of God plain and clear in every sermon, so that the people of God will become stronger, shining brighter in the middle of a dark world. His desire is that unbelievers will become disciples of Jesus Christ, and that Christians will submit their entire lives to the lordship and authority of Jesus Christ.
Stephen Kring, Senior Pastor

Pastor Stephen Kring was born and raised by Christian parents in Pennsylvania. The Lord saved him at an early age. After high school he attended and graduated from Toronto Baptist Seminary (B.Th.) and later from the University of Waterloo (B.A. with a major in Classical Studies).

He accepted a call to the ministry at Bethesda Baptist Church in April of 1977 and continues to love being part of the family of God there.
In 1978 he married Cheryl and the Lord has blessed them with a wonderful marriage and with 5 children (all married) and a growing number of grandchildren.

Over the years, Stephen has served on the board of the Association of Regular Baptist Churches and also the Sovereign Grace Fellowship. He and Cheryl have also been to Malawi, Africa, to teach at the pastors’ and wives’ conference there. He has served as tutor for the Greek correspondence course with Toronto Baptist Seminary.

His interests include playing trumpet as well as camping, biking, cross-country skiing, and playing pickleball with Cheryl.
But most of all Stephen loves to preach and teach God’s Word in an expository way. He is constantly amazed at how rich and relevant the Bible truly is. His burden is that more and more people in Delhi, young and old alike, would come to know and worship and serve the God of the Bible as they hear about His Son and our only Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Our Church's Distinctives

Expository Preaching: At all our services, we look at a book of the Bible, verse by verse, chapter by chapter, to see the meaning as God intended and its application to us today.

Reverent, God-centred Worship: In our services, we enjoy singing traditional hymns as well as carefully chosen modern worship songs, with musical accompaniment that does not focus on the performers or hurt the eardrums!

Sunday Evening Service: In a day when fewer and fewer churches meet on Sunday evenings, we continue to love gathering to worship God and hear His Word.

Scripture is Our Highest Authority: We believe that the Bible is the only infallible revelation of spiritual truth and that it applies to all areas of doctrine and life.
Salvation: Jesus Christ is the only Saviour for sinners. Faith in Jesus is the only way to eternal life and salvation from judgement and hell.
Welcoming: We warmly welcome people of all backgrounds and persuasions to come to our services. All are welcome to listen and ask questions.

The Sovereignty of God: We believe that salvation is due to the power and grace of God from beginning to end. While sinners are responsible to repent and believe, apart from the special work of God's grace in our hearts, we would never come to Him. He alone is to be glorified, not us.
